Applying as an International Student

Virginia Tech's international population, including 2,000 students representing more than 110 countries, contributes a unique vibrancy to the cultural climate of the campus and the surrounding community. Step By Step

1. Apply
2. Submit all supporting documentation by the application deadline. (See the Application Checklist.) Applications that are incomplete at the deadline will be canceled.
3. Arrange to have your final transcript sent to us no later than the deadline stated in your offer letter.

What to Expect

Within 24 hours of Virginia Tech's receipt of your application you should receive:

1. An e-mail from admiss@vt.edu when your application has been received (please add admiss@vt.edu to your list of approved senders)
2. A verification e-mail confirming your personal information

Within two weeks of Virginia Tech's receipt of your application you should receive:

1. Your Virginia Tech Application ID number (different from your application transaction number)
2. Your PIN to access the online application status page (with your Virginia Tech Application ID number.
