There are two ways to apply for admission to Virginia Tech: online and using the traditional paper application. Virginia Tech expects all applicants to apply using the online application; however, if you are planning on using an official fee-waiver, you MUST apply using the paper application, and attach the fee-waiver to it upon submission.
If you do not meet these requirements, please select another option:
Our web application allows you to create a user account and define a password to access your application. You will be able to save your work and come back to it as often as you like until the application is completed.
In addition to your completed application and application fee, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions must receive all supporting materials in order to complete your application file. For a complete list of what is needed, please see the Application Checklist.
International transfer applicants must submit the international application (not the transfer application), but will need to supply the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with additional materials. For more information, please see the Application Checklist.
Once you have completed and paid for your application, you can send any necessary changes to us at appchange@vt.edu. Please see the application changes page for more information.
Please DO NOT set up a new account and submit a secondary application to make changes to a completed/paid application. No refunds will be given for secondary application fees.
The directors and assistant directors of undergraduate admissions want you to know:
It's important to take note of the dates and deadlines in the application process. A complete application file that includes the application, the application fee, and all supporting information will receive priority during review.
To ensure we receive ALL of your documents, please write your passport name on all materials that you submit. If your name for your school records is different, please have your school attach a cover letter indicating these documents are for you, and include your passport name.
Applicants need to provide the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with a valid email address and check it often, as there are many instances when we need to communicate with applicants during the application review period.
