Application Checklist

Applying Online

  1. Read the Instructions for Applying Online.
  2. Create an ApplyWeb account (if first-time user)
  3. Select type of application
  4. Complete the application form, save, and send online to Virginia Tech by selecting this option at the end of the application.
  5. Pay the appropriate application fee online using the secure credit card transaction service.
  6. Once the Office of Undergraduate Admissions acknowledges your application, you will receive a verification letter via e-mail.

Applying Using the Paper Application

  1. Download the paper application (If you don't have a PDF viewer, you can download the plug-in from Adobe's website.)
  2. Mail your completed application and the application fee to Virginia Tech, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 201 Burruss Hall, Blacksburg, Virginia 24061.

What We Need From You

Whether you apply online or send in the paper application, non-degree applicants must submit the following materials to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 201 Burruss Hall, Blacksburg, VA 24061 in order to complete your application file:

  1. A completed application for non-degree undergraduate admission, plus a $50 check or money order (non-refundable application fee) made payable to Treasurer, Virginia Tech.
  2. Virginia In-State Tuition Form (included in both the online and paper Non-Degree Application)- This form must be submitted with your application if you claim entitlement to Virginia in-state tuition rates, even if you are currently a Virginia resident. Failure to complete this form will result in your classification as an out-of-state student. For more information, please see the residency page.
  3. A letter explaining your purpose in attending Virginia Tech as a non-degree student.
  4. High School Transcripts- An official or unofficial copy of your high school transcript must be received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions no later than the application deadline. In some cases, the Admissions Committee may waive the requirement for transcripts.
