Applying as a Transfer
Each year, approximately 800 transfer students enroll at Virginia Tech, and approximately 50% are from Virginia’s two-year colleges. We welcome transfer students from the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), Richard Bland College (RBC), and other two- and four-year institutions.
Virginia Tech prefers that applications be sent online. Transfer applicants must obtain an official copy of their current and previous college transcripts, plus one copy of their final high school transcript. In most cases an application can be reviewed before receipt of the high school transcript. A final high school transcript is still required prior to enrollment. Transfer applicants must send these documents to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, or enclose them with the paper application. Applicants are encouraged to retain copies of all materials submitted to undergraduate admissions.
Please note that an application file that is completed as described above, and includes all information requested, payment of the processing fee, and copies of the appropriate transcript(s), will receive priority in the application review process.
Before beginning the application process, take a look at the brief overview below of how to apply and what to expect.
