Spring Semester

Virginia Tech enrolls new students on a space-available basis in the spring semester. Applications are reviewed and decisions made based on the contents of the applicant's file as of October 1 of the year preceding the spring semester. Applicants attending a Virginia community college are advised to complete their entrance year (fall and spring semesters) at the community college and apply for admission to Virginia Tech for the fall semester.

For the past several years, no students have been admitted for the spring term.

Students cannot be accepted to the following majors at mid-year: architecture, landscape architecture, or industrial design.

Summer Semester

New students admitted to the university for fall may change their term of entry to summer by submitting the Change in Term form at www.admiss.vt.edu/applicationchange.html to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Students enrolled in other universities may attend summer sessions as visiting students. High-ability high school juniors and seniors may attend as non-degree-seeking students. For more information on summer sessions, visit www.summer.vt.edu or e-mail summer@vt.edu.
