General Engineering

All incoming freshmen who plan to major in engineering are enrolled in the General Engineering program and are assigned an advisor. The General Engineering program provides a solid educational foundation that emphasizes the use of computers in the analysis and solution of engineering problems and employs state-of-the-art software packages. During the freshman year, students select their majors from 14 degree-granting engineering programs and assigned both an academic advisor and a career advisor within that major. In addition to mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering sciences, engineering students also take core classes in the humanities and social sciences.
