Wildlife Science

Wildlife science focuses on the study, conservation, and use of primarily terrestrial wild animals and ecosystems. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of animal biology (birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians), habitats, and human uses and values of wildlife and has strengths in non-game, endangered, and game species management, biodiversity, and human-wildlife interactions.

Job opportunities exist with physiology/ecotoxicology laboratories, state and federal natural resource agencies, conservation groups, forest industries, and private consulting companies. Although some positions are open to B.S. graduates, an advanced degree is recommended for careers in wildlife science.
