December Hokie News
We were happy to learn of your interest in Virginia Tech. As we prepare for the upcoming January 15 application deadline for Fall 2008 freshman admission, we thought you might find the following list of tips helpful.
- Start your application today.
- Already applied? Check your application status now.
Application Tips
- Even if you don’t think you will qualify for aid, please take the time to complete the FAFSA and the Virginia Tech General Scholarship application.
- While we don’t require an essay, we include two optional personal statements on the application. Believe it or not… we actually read each one of them! Please know that we don’t focus on your writing or grammatical skills while reading the statements. Instead, we read the statements for information that we would not be able to obtain through your grade point average or standardized test score.
- Virginia Tech’s primary method of communication is e-mail. You should provide a valid e-mail address and check it often, as there are many instances when we need to communicate with you during the application review period.
- Students who are Virginia residents must complete and submit the Virginia In-State Tuition form in order to qualify for in-state tuition rates.
