In keeping with the university’s motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech have made it a priority to pledge and perform 300,000 volunteer hours by the end of the spring 2007 semester. This vast volunteer effort is known as VT-Engage.

Through service, VT-Engage will join the university and the community. Each student, faculty, and staff member of the university has been asked to pledge and perform 10 hours of community service this academic year.

Virginia Tech alumni have pledged to match the university’s 300,000-hour goal, for a total pledge of 600,000 hours to be performed by the university and its alumni.

In addition, friends and family of the university have also agreed to pledge and perform community service. If you’d like to pledge community service hours, visit www.engage.vt.edu.

We look forawrd to seeing how many hours of community service we can perform by the end of this academic year.
