Corps of Cadets Scholarships
Members of Virginia Tech's Cadet Corps Regimental Band, the Highty-Tighties, qualify for a $1000 Scholarship. In addition, they are eligible for the Cadet Emerging Leader Scholarship of $12,000 as an out of state student and $8,000 as an in state student.
The Highty-Tighties grew out of Virginia Tech's Corps of Cadets on the Blacksburg campus in 1893. Since then, their record of excellence has continued to grow and they have performed for special events and parades around the country.
Enrollment requires membership in the Corps of Cadets but does not require enrollment in ROTC program; therefore, there is no military obligation. To change to cadet status to be eligible for the Highty-Tighties, contact Gary Jackson.
