Important Parking Information for March 31 - April 13
During the weeks of March 31 - April 13, 2012, parking is available in the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center and the Inn at Virginia Tech parking lots for the information sessions. Prior to the start of the tour, participants will park on the 5th level of the parking garage on Perry Street. They will then proceed to the front steps of Burruss Hall where they will be met by tour guides for their tour. In case of rain, tours will meet in the first floor lobby of Burruss Hall.
Visiting on a Saturday
Admissions visitors planning on visiting on a Saturday will not need to obtain a parking pass from the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center. Information sessions are held at the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center. All tours originate from Burruss Hall.
Admissions visitors should enter Burruss Hall from the front of the building (pictured above) and proceed to the 2nd floor lobby. Wheelchair access to the building is located in the tunnel of Burruss Hall.
Burruss Hall is located off of Drillfield Drive.
To reach the campus from Interstate 81 (southbound and northbound):
- Take Exit 118 to reach the exit ramps for all three of the exits at this location. There is only one exit ramp serving the exits; missing the ramp means a trip north to Exit 128 or south to Exit 114 to turn around.
- Take Exit 118B onto U.S. 460 West. This exit connects directly to the Christiansburg Bypass. Follow the signs for Blacksburg/Virginia Tech. The U.S. 460 bypass between Blacksburg and Christiansburg is a limited-access highway from I-81 to the campus entrance.
- To reach Burruss Hall, continue on U.S. 460 for 8.5 miles to the Prices Fork Road exit for "Downtown." Turn right at the first traffic light on Prices Fork Road.
- Take a right at the second traffic light onto West Campus Drive.
- Parking is available off of Perry Street. Turn left onto Perry Street from West Campus Drive. You should find ample parking in lots on either side of Perry Street. Once you have parked, you should proceed through Derring Hall, up the outside stairs on the other side of the building, under the Pamplin Hall bridge, and then follow signs to the left to Undergraduate Admissions.
- For limited visitor parking close to Burruss Hall, drive past Perry Street and turn left onto Drillfield Drive as you reach the bottom of the hill, then proceed around the Drillfield until you see Burruss Hall atop the hill on your right. Admissions visitor spaces are available directly across from Burruss Hall.
To reach the campus from Interstate 77 (northbound):
Take exit 32 onto I-81 North. Continue for approximately 29 miles and follow the directions above for Interstate 81 northbound.
To reach the campus from Interstate 77/West Virginia Turnpike (southbound):
- In West Virginia, take exit 9, "U.S. 460-Princeton/Pearisburg, VA." Turn left at the stoplight at the end of the ramp onto U.S. 460 East.
- Continue on U.S. 460 East for approximately 44.9 miles (11.6 in W.Va., 33.3 in Virginia). Take the Toms Creek Road exit. Turn left onto Toms Creek Road.
- Turn right onto University City Blvd at the first traffic light. Continue on University City Blvd for about 1.2 miles until reaching the Prices Fork intersection (2nd light on University City Blvd). Take a left onto Prices Fork Road.
- Take a right at the next traffic light onto West Campus Drive.
- Parking is available off of Perry Street. Turn left onto Perry Street from West Campus Drive. You should find ample parking in lots on either side of Perry Street. Visiting on a Weekday
Admissions visitors visiting on a weekday will need to arrive at the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center to obtain a visitor's parking permit. Weekday information sessions are held in the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center. Campus tour groups will be bused over to campus from the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center.
IMPORTANT: If you are only scheduling a campus tour, we recommend arriving at the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time. The bus will not wait for late visitors. Please be prompt.
The Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center is located at the intersection of Prices Fork Road and University City Blvd.
