Group Tours

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions welcomes group visits (students must be in 7th grade or higher) Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. We can only accommodate one group per day and require at least three weeks advance notice. Therefore, be sure to schedule your visit as early as possible to ensure that you can come on the day of your choice.

If you and your students are interested in this opportunity, please e-mail our group tour coordinator, Linda Hazelwood (lindawh@vt.edu). Be sure to include the following information in your e-mail:

• Name of visiting group
• Daytime phone number
• Day and date of visit
• Age/grade of prospective students
• E-mail address where you can be reached (if different from your sending e-mail address)

Your Visit

During your visit, you will have the opportunity to attend a one-hour information session, led by one of our assistant directors. This session covers the admissions process, what we look for during application review, some history about the university, and the many activities available to Tech students. You will also learn about Virginia Tech’s internationally recognized faculty experts and academic programs, leadership and research options, and endless opportunities for experience, recreation, and fun. There will be time at the end of the session to ask questions.

Your visit to Virginia Tech will also include a one-hour walking tour given by one of our student Hokie Ambassador volunteers. On the tour, you will see a residence hall, the War Memorial Gym, and several academic buildings. Your student guide will also point out dining halls, the library, the bookstore, and other campus facilities.
